The actor got married at the Kollur Mookambika temple on February 5 this year to Nishal Chandran, working as a technical advisor in National Bank of Kuwait. Soon after the marriage, however, differences began to crop up between the two, leading to divorce. It is because Nishal is from Trivandrum that the family decided to file the case in Trivandrum. There are reports that the court will be approached with media attention on another day. The divorce case has been filed through a prominent lawyer from Ernakulam. The lawyer has reminded Kavya's family that only if the married couple lives separate for a year would they be eligible to apply for divorce. However, the family has decided to approach the court.
